In other news, my room is much quieter now.  Old Navi's been sitting next to my computer, on but doing nothing, for a few days.  I finally shut down all her daemons, tarred up her entire directory structure and put it on my desktop, and turned her off.

Her hard drives are now back in their old case, along with the new one.  It's going to be a tight squeeze, but I'm pretty sure I can fit three hard drives and a CD-RW in her one-unit case.  (To give you perspective, that case is just barely tall enough to hold a CD drive.)  I copied over all of my old mail, then rewrote the backup scripts for the new machine and I'm running them now.  In the morning I'll make sure there's nothing left on those hard drives I want and then wipe them for RAID.

Farewell, Navi-chan.  You were a good machine.  But you have been reborn, and I think you'll be much happier this way.
