Do you think Voldemort has an office somewhere? Does he keep records? Are there dossiers on all of his Death Eaters? Does he keep an accounting of which offenses he's Crucioed them for and which ones are still pending? Does he keep a "to kill" list on paper, and is Harry in the #1 spot? Does he keep a room full of records describing all the atrocities his organization has committed? Does he have a librarian somewhere with a Dark Mark on his arm to organize it all?
Is there a fic in this somewhere?
Am I utterly insane for wondering about this?

Wow, can't believe I neglected my journal for two weeks. That's gotta be some kind of record...
Anyway.
Most of the last couple weeks have been spent obsessively reading fanfiction, culminating in what I'll call the Triangle Prophecy Trilogy. (The first of the stories is here.) This is some of the best fanfic I've ever read, with excellent characterization, a coherent plot, and compelling twists. The damn thing sucked me in so completely that whenever I stopped reading it for a bit, I was left with whatever emotions Harry was feeling at that point in the story. It also has one of the best original characters I've ever seen—Jamie, from the second of the trilogy. I was sad to finish that one because I knew that I'd probably never read another story with Jamie in it. As suggested from the fact that it's a trilogy, it branches off before Order of the Phoenix, so like most other pre-OOTP fics it's sort of bittersweet—I may like whatever the authors have done with it, but I miss the twins' escape, the wonderfully horrible Umbridge, and Luna Lovegood.
A few other developments in the last couple days:

A few other developments in the last couple days:
- I got a new pair of skates that don't crunch my feet so much. (A good pair of hockey skates has to be tight enough that your feet cramp when you sit down, but it certainly shouldn't give you ingrown toenails.) I'm going to try to skate every morning.
- I bought a D&D player's handbook, and I'm meeting with a gathering of OC players in a few days. (It's a meeting to meet other players, not a meeting to actually play.)
- I'm also studying for Linux+.
- I've totally neglected my e-mail in the last few days, but I'll be fixing that.
- I went geocaching with my parents yesterday; we had coordinates for four caches in a canyon about twenty minutes from my house, and found all of them.
- I have a new usericon. I adore it.

Been sick and disinclined to post here since my cruise, but here's the executive summary:
The only really interesting thing I did on it was geocaching on Catalina Island. The city of Avalon, as it turns out, is positively swimming in geocaches, and before we left we printed coordinates for five of them. We found four, including one that took about a quarter mile of hiking. We also ran into about a dozen other geocachers, all of whom said the fifth cache seemed to have gone missing, because none of them could find it. It was a very fun day; I still have a couple pictures from the hiking cache I need to copy off my camera.
Also brought along my new Harry Potter books and got into the middle of Prisoner of Azkaban before stepping off the ship. Sadly, these have been edited quite a bit, and deviate noticably from even older American editions; the amusing phrase
I loved both of the new albums I took with me. Maybe six months ago I listened to the previews of The Postal Service's songs on iTunes, and decided not to get the album; on actually hearing it, though, it's clear that their music has a magic to it that simply doesn't come out in thirty-second clips. It's a sort of soothing electronic sound with intelligent lyrics; I think I've fallen in love. I recommend it to anybody who likes their singles. The Faint's new album is also pretty good; I mostly alternated between the two as I was reading my Harry Potter books.
Nifty news coming up, but I'll wait to post about it just to taunt you.

Happy Christmasis now gone, and a reference to someone having a harelip in Chamber of Secrets was changed to
hairy chin, presumably to avoid offending people. V. annoying. I'm now most of the way through Goblet of Fire, by the way.
