This guy's hundred megabytes of scanned manga has kept Filespace highly loaded for days. I only noticed anything was wrong an hour ago, and had to analyze Filespace's traffic to figure out what was causing it. Then I had to figure out how to get his files to produce a 503 error. All while I was trying to eat dinner.

Fucktard.

[edit]
WOW!? really, dang i'm really sorry! I really didn't
mean to. I understand what you think...so it's ok.

I'll try to find somewhere else.

thanks for providing a great hosting service though.

But i really need the space for the screenshots, can
you only delete the magna
Goddamn it, my "nice guy" tendency is kicking in. x.x (A few of the files weren't actually manga--they were subtitled screencaps of anime.)[/edit]

Yeah, that's really inconsiderate.

*blinkblink* He's somehow convinced what should be his user index that it's some sort of scanslation host site. If it were me, he'd be discovering his account gone and a nasty email in his inbox pretty quickly.

Your generousity amazes me, dude.

Oh, that's perfectly normal. You just have to upload an index.html file to hide your file listing page:

In any case, I've sent the fool an e-mail telling them that I'll be deleting the files in twenty-four hours, and they should reply if they need backup copies. In the mean time, users who try to download those files will continue getting that error.

Good news, yeah. I can confirm that Tsubasa is liscensed, incidentally. I've got the first volume sitting on my shelf here.

Have you looked into what could happen if someone else abuses your generousity like that?

Legally, Filespace is probably an ISP, which means that the only good part of the DMCA protects me as long as I'm reasonably prompt about taking down copyrighted material. If you're asking about another sense, I don't really know what you mean.

That sense would be the one I had in mind, yeah. The idea that big media might try to erase someone I know is rather frightening, and protection under law is a good thing.

I was wondering just last night what was making Filespace slow to a crawl.

Guess that would explain why Filespace was taking over 20 minutes to upload a 3MB file earlier today...
