The dark side of easy

I take back what I said the other day about my C++ class. It's not easy--it's boring. As all hell.

The guy spent an hour and a half talking about cin and cout. For non-programmers, what that means is that he spent one-sixteenth of a day explaining that you print stuff by typing cout << "message" and read stuff from the keyboard by typing cin >> name.

Ugh.

I'm just glad I had Slashdot on my Visor to read. Otherwise, I'd probably have gone insane.

Reminds me of a teacher we once had who spent an entire double period explaining the manyfold uses of the "PRINT" command in Comal.

Ouch. If its a big enough class can't you just walk out? or bring a book?

...

How on earth can one spend that much time on that? I can't fathom it.

*attempts to imagine how long he would take to explain printers, or array-bound checking*

*head explodes as mental timeline reaches heat-death of the universe*

Well...one of the nice things about college is that you can usually get away with skipping most of your easy classes. Not that I would ever have done such a thing, or would condone actions of that nature...*looks shifty*

Trust me, when I'm driving myself to school, I'll be doing other things instead of this class fairly frequently. But that won't be until after I have my license, which won't be until sometime next month...

Y'know, I'm glad I'm not the only person who didn't go out to get my license the minute I turned 16. Really off-topic, but it makes me feel less odd.

I still hate driving, though.
