On intelligence

I love being a genius.

I love that I can half-listen to a lecture and still understand what's being explained.

I love that I can hear the description of a complex problem, grab a dry-erase marker, stand in front of a whiteboard for ten minutes, and throw together a rough Entity-Relationship diagram of its data structures. (And that I rarely have to do more than fill in the details of it.)

I love that a teacher can walk into the room, start giving us tips, look at the whiteboard, and go, "Well, you seem to have the gist of it".

I love that I can present that rough cut to a room full of people and hear everyone start talking at once the moment I finish.

I don't love that, despite all those brains, I still can't remember to set an alarm before I go to bed.

Well, I wouldn't expect better from a Cambridge grad. ;^)
