Kick *ass*!

I found something that's made of awesome.

It's called Writely, and it's apparently Google's idea of a word processor. An online, WYSIWYG, revision-tracking, collaborative word processor. Which will happily import and export Word and OpenOffice documents. And allow you to control who can access documents, including publishing them publicly. And will post them to a blog (like this post, for instance).

I'm not sure I still need OpenOffice.

Ooh... That IS made of awesome. Or, at the very least, awesome is one of the various ingredients

Practical application #23:

For use on writing projects. Like, novels that you're working on with another person.

Indeed. I wonder if OLSAL would've been written the same way if Writely had been around.

Related application: letting viewers read your drafts.

Doesn't work in Safari yet. Also, not so comfortable with storing my important documents that far in someone else's hands. Publishing (via xml rpc?) is a nifty idea though.
