Chapman accepted me. Actually did it the same day they received the letter, though not before sending an excuse-laden reply.

But I think it's going to be Kent. I feel very much like there's nothing to recommend Chapman except that it's in California, and I think that's the wrong way to choose a school.

Although I drove to Chapman this morning and...well, I'm going to miss an empty five-lane highway at seven o'clock on a Saturday morning. Driving is one of the simple pleasures of my life, and one I won't enjoy while I'm in England.

Yes, but you'll be much happier at a school that's made it clear it WANTS you, rather than at a place that couldn't bother to let you know until you hit them in the kneecaps.

Often the admissions goons are so far separated from the departments and even more so the professors, as to not make a difference, once you get past that hurdle.

The real, and proper way to choose a school is to look at the diversity or student body info page on their website and choose the one with the highest girl/guy ratio.

Kent's is 55/45; Chapman's is 59/41.
